The regular dates are the second Thursday in March at 10 a.m. (Hesse state warning day), the second Tuesday in June at 7 p.m., the second Thursday in September at 11 a.m. (national warning day), and the second Tuesday in December at 7 p.m.

The next siren test will take place as scheduled on Thursday, September 10, at 11 a.m. throughout the city of Wiesbaden.

Under the Hessian Fire and Disaster Protection Act, municipalities are required to ensure that the public is warned in the event of a disaster. In accordance with the disaster response plan of the Hessian Ministry of the Interior, the following measures are used in Wiesbaden: 

• "One-minute, rising and falling wailing tone" (warning to the public)
• "One-minute, steady wailing tone" (all-clear) 
• "One-minute continuous tone, interrupted twice" (fire alarm) 

The following guidelines should be observed, particularly when the “warning to the public” signal is sounded. They are uniformly regulated by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and also apply in Wiesbaden:

• Close doors and windows
• Avoid staying outdoors
• Turn on the radio and listen for announcements
• Pay attention to the latest reports from the fire department
• Notify your neighbors
• Turn off ventilation and air conditioning systems
