Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH participates in the industry initiative “fairpflichtet,” the sustainability code of the German-speaking events industry. The initiative sets forth guidelines for responsible corporate governance and event organization.
1. STRATEGY. Sustainable business means acting strategically, taking the lead, and integrating sustainability into corporate processes.
2. Sustainability is understood above all as an OPPORTUNITY—to address the impacts of business activities in the future and for the benefit of all.
3. The “sustainable entrepreneur” fulfills their responsibility in the region to enhance the COMMON GOOD.
4. ECONOMY, in balance with ecology and social aspects, are equally important concerns for the long-term stability of the company.
5. Responsible use of RESOURCES AND ENERGY means, first, avoiding waste; second, reducing consumption; and third, replacing them with renewable alternatives.
6. The “sustainable employer” demonstrates a high level of SOCIAL COMPETENCE toward its employees, enhances their qualifications, and secures their employment.
7. Out of RESPECT for people, the “sustainable entrepreneur” advocates for the observance of human rights and opposes all forms of discrimination and corruption.
8. OPENNESS is a mindset. Transparency regarding sustainability measures is the result.
9. The voluntary COMMITMENT to sustainability is a duty to oneself that becomes a societal expectation.
10. The “sustainable entrepreneur” provides INCENTIVES to change mindsets and take action, in order to involve employees and partners in a continuous process of improving sustainability.
