Afternoon weekly market on Maundy Thursday with additional program

The afternoon weekly market on Luisenplatz offers a special "seasonal day" on Maundy Thursday, just in time for Easter shopping: at the usual times from 1 pm to 6 pm, you can enjoy a glass of wine or other drinks on deckchairs at the wine stall. DJ Schajan will be providing lounge music from 2 pm. For the youngest visitors, the stilt walk act with flower fairy "La Fleur" will ensure Easter anticipation.

"With this seasonal day, we are increasing the attractiveness of the weekly market, which further strengthens the city center as a shopping and experience area," says Mayor and Head of Economic Affairs Christiane Hinninger.

A total of eleven vendors offer their wide range of seasonal and regional products at the afternoon weekly market, primarily organic producers and local producers. Since the start of the season, there are also two new local producers: the 'Käsereich' from Mainz with various cheese specialties, cheese platters and cheese spaetzle, and the KIT-Hofgut from Wiesbaden Schierstein, which offers honey, jams, jellies from its own production, liqueurs and wine, olive oil, mustard and vegan pastes.

Parking in the Luisenplatz parking garage is free of charge on Maundy Thursday, as it is every Thursday during market hours from 1 pm to 6 pm. The offer from WiBau, which operates the parking garage on behalf of the city, enables visitors to the afternoon weekly market to enjoy a relaxed and convenient shopping experience. As usual, parking customers take a ticket at the entrance to use the free parking facility. If entry and exit both take place during market hours, the ticket can be used directly at the barrier without having to visit a ticket machine.

The new afternoon weekly market on Luisenplatz is made possible by funding from the federal program "Sustainable inner cities and centers". The program supports selected cities and municipalities in the challenging task of maintaining and developing attractive, sustainable centers.
