18th Wiesbaden Patient Day

On Saturday, May 3, Wiesbaden City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, will open its doors for the 18th Wiesbaden Patient Day from 9:30 am to 4 pm. The Wiesbaden Health Department and the German Society for Internal Medicine (DGIM) are inviting all interested citizens to find out about important health issues. Attendance at the Wiesbaden Patient Day is free of charge and no registration is required.

With over 60 information stands and many specialist presentations, this year's Patient Day once again offers the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about medical innovations, prevention and forms of therapy. Clinics, self-help groups and patient organizations will present their wide range of services in the town hall and on Schlossplatz. On the Schlossplatz in front of the town hall, numerous emergency and rescue services will also be providing information about their work and inviting visitors to join in.

The Patient Day traditionally takes place as part of the annual conference of the DGIM - one of the largest medical congresses in Europe. The aim is to make the latest scientific findings understandable and accessible to the general public.

The specialist lectures on this day will focus on the following topics:

- The most important things in emergencies - for everyone

- News from the field of pneumology

- Climate change and health

- The latest in cardiac medicine

- Common gastroenterological diseases

- Staying mentally fit - preventing dementia

- Cannabis use? Good to know!

- Falls in old age

- My kidney is sick

- Organ transplantation and resilience
