ESWE Verkehr on strike for three days - many lines canceled
ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH is expecting major restrictions in operations for three days due to a strike call by the trade union ver.di. The strike action will begin on Tuesday morning, March 11, at the start of operations, i.e. around 4 a.m., and is expected to last until the end of operations on the night of Thursday to Friday, March 14. During this time, there will be extensive disruptions to ESWE Verkehr's services.
During the strike phase, passengers have individual options for getting to their destination by public transport. The situation is as follows.
Tuesday only: Only lines 5, 28, 39 and 46 operated by partner companies of ESWE Verkehr will be served, although there may also be restrictions here. Increased passenger volumes are to be expected here. Due to a simultaneous strike situation at Mainzer Mobilität, lines 6, 9 and 74 from the direction of Mainz will not be operated. Line 33 coming from the direction of Mainz will run on a limited schedule and only as far as Wiesbaden Ost. More information can be found on the Mainzer Mobilität website https://www.mainzer-mobilitaet.de.
Wednesday and Thursday only: Lines 5, 28, 39 and 46 operated by partner companies are expected to run. Line 9 operated by Mainzer Mobilität will also run according to the regular timetable. The other joint lines with Mainzer Mobilität will operate with restrictions: - Line 6: Only runs between Gonsenheim / Wildpark and Wiesbaden Ost station and back - Line 33: Only runs between Kostheim / Winterstraße and Wiesbaden Ost station and back - Line 74: Only runs between Hechtsheim / Mühldreieck and Biebrich / Friedrich-Bergius-Straße and back. There may be individual cancellations on all lines.
Regional buses and trains are expected to run as planned on all days. The Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) website at www.rmv.de also provides information on all bus and S-Bahn connections at all times.
There may be further restrictions and changes at short notice during the strike phase. If possible, ESWE Verkehr will provide information via the digital passenger information displays at the stops or via the website www.eswe-verkehr.de/warnstreik and social networks.
The ESWE Verkehr mobility center in Marktstraße is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm. The mobility information centers at the main station and at Luisenplatz will remain closed during the strike. The mobility service provider's service hotline is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
