Urban Development Day in Wiesbaden

The nationwide "Urban Development Day" is celebrated on Saturday, May 10.

In line with this year's motto "Vibrant places for strong communities", SEG Wiesbaden and the Parks Department will be leading a tour of the "Growth and sustainable renewal Wiesbaden city center and south" development area - also known as "Stadtgrün Wiesbaden".

Squares and playgrounds are shown that have different focuses of use, design ideas and stages of implementation. In this way, the significance of the funded redesigns becomes clear and it becomes apparent that these "lively places" are being created for the "strong community" in Wiesbaden.

There are two tours to choose from:

  • "On your marks - urban greenery! Go!" (start: 10 and 11.30 am): At Elsässer Platz, you can take a quick look at the construction site and then continue via Bülowplatz to Sedanplatz.
  • "Fun and games in the Wiesbaden city green!" (Start: 10 am and 12 noon): Starting at the Reisinger-Anlagen, the tour continues via the playgrounds in Adolfsallee and Luxemburgplatz to Wallufer Platz. The second tour runs the same route back.

If you are interested, please register by sending an email to stadterneuerungseg-wiesbadende stating your name, the number of people, the focus/title of the tour and the desired time. The respective meeting points will be communicated with the registration confirmation. The number of participants on each tour is limited.

The urban development funding programs are among the most important instruments of urban development and are also effective in Wiesbaden. The nationwide action day is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building, the federal states, the Association of German Cities and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities to strengthen the participation of citizens in urban development projects.
