Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Call for funding for cultural education in schools

The state capital of Wiesbaden has provided funding for cultural education projects in schools for the coming first half of the 2026/2027 school year.

Starting immediately, schools with project ideas can apply via the city’s application portal “Fundgarden” at kulturfoerderantraege-wiesbaden.fund.garden/. (opens in a new tab) The application deadline is Monday, May 25. A panel of experts will decide on the awards in June 2026.

Funding will be provided for projects planned and implemented in cooperation between a Wiesbaden school (all grade levels and school types) and a cultural institution, a cultural association, or independent artists. The range of possible project ideas extends from dance, music, and media formats to theater and art workshops. Combinations of these disciplines or other creative and artistic ideas are also welcome. It is important to note that schools should not purchase pre-packaged formats; rather, the school and its cultural partner should develop the project idea in collaboration with the student body. The projects may take place within the framework of regular classes or build upon them, but should nevertheless feature innovative and new approaches. Follow-up funding for the project is possible. The short-, medium-, or long-term initiatives may be designed, for example, as workshops, project weeks, extracurricular clubs, or field trips. The goal of the funding is to enable children and young people to actively participate in cultural and artistic topics.

Applications for smaller projects with a budget of up to 800 euros can be submitted at any time using the corresponding application form on the digital application portal.
