Experience students from the Wiesbaden Music Academy at the Kulturforum
In May, students of the Wiesbaden Music Academy (WMA) will once again be presenting several concert evenings at the Kulturforum, Friedrichstraße 16, starting with three varied concerts that will give an insight into the wide stylistic range and artistic level of the course. Further events will follow in the course of the month.
The series kicks off on Thursday, May 7, at 7 p.m. with a piano recital by Prof. Franz Vorraber’s class. The program features well-known works from the piano repertoire, including Claude Debussy’s “Clair de lune,” a Sonata in F major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Impromptus by Franz Schubert. The program is complemented by additional works ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach to Sergei Rachmaninoff.
On Monday, May 11, at 7:30 p.m., a string recital with a focus on the cello will follow. Students from Bianca Breitfeld’s class will perform alongside a viola student from Tilman Lauterbach’s class and a violin student from Alexander Bartha’s class. The program features works by Benedetto Marcello, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Camille Saint-Saëns, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Dmitri Shostakovich.
On Tuesday, May 12, at 7 p.m., a violin recital featuring students from Igor Mishurisman’s class will follow. The program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jean Sibelius, and Niccolò Paganini, among others, and highlights the instrument’s versatility and virtuosity.
