Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

The Kaiser-Friedrich-Therme is opening a day early

The extensive work carried out at the Kaiser-Friedrich-Therme during its closure was completed successfully and on schedule. As a result, the spa will be able to reopen its doors on Monday, August 31—one day earlier than originally planned.

During the three-month closure, the facility underwent extensive maintenance, modernization, and upgrades in many areas. In addition to visible changes, the focus was primarily on technical, hygienic, and safety-related measures. Much of the work takes place behind the scenes and is not immediately visible to visitors. Nevertheless, these measures are crucial for safe, hygienic, and smooth operations.

Among other things, the lint filters and drainage channels were thoroughly cleaned during the closure. The floor heating system and the boilers were flushed and serviced. The building management system also underwent comprehensive maintenance.

In the area of water treatment, the surge tank was cleaned and disinfected, and the filter gravel bed was flushed and treated with high-concentration chlorine. The dosing systems for the pool water treatment were also cleaned. In addition, the chlorine pumps were replaced.

To ensure hygienic safety, a hygiene flush of the ventilation system in the relaxation area was also performed.

Investments were also made in the technical infrastructure and security. A new fire door was installed, and a new server cabinet was set up and put into operation. A new parking barrier will also provide a modern and reliable access solution in the future.

As part of our energy management efforts, meters were also replaced. This lays the groundwork for even better tracking and optimization of energy consumption.

The catering cold storage room was serviced and subsequently put back into operation. In addition, the locker systems were overhauled, and numerous locks were replaced or upgraded.

In addition to the technical work, the facility was also upgraded in terms of aesthetics and comfort. In the changing room area, the light bulbs were replaced and missing brass coat hooks were added. Silicone caulking was renewed, and various areas were redesigned.

The Tipidarium was equipped with modern LED lighting. The previous globe lights were replaced with energy-efficient LED lighting. In addition, four new wooden reclining loungers were added to the Tipidarium.

The control room was also redesigned and repainted. The dining area and the relaxation zone were likewise given a fresh coat of paint, giving them a revitalized look.

The wide range of measures carried out demonstrates that the closure period was put to good use to comprehensively prepare the facility for continued operation and make it fit for the future.

The focus was particularly on safety, hygiene, technical reliability, energy efficiency, and the quality of the visitor experience. In addition to visible improvements, numerous works were carried out on technical systems and infrastructure—works that, while barely noticeable to visitors, are indispensable for daily operations. As a result, following the three-month closure, the facility not only appears visually refreshed but has also undergone comprehensive technical maintenance and is now equipped for the future.
