Dr. Becher, Head of Social Affairs, emphasizes:  “Wiesbaden is now adopting this approach and combining the digital platform with personalized counseling from the housing advisory service of the Office for Social Work. The service is aimed in particular at families with growing housing needs, as well as older adults or people living alone who wish to downsize or move into a more accessible home.”

Interested individuals can list their current apartment and their housing preferences, as well as search for suitable exchange opportunities. 

In addition to the platform, the Housing Counseling Service offers individual support regarding apartment swaps, such as assistance with creating listings or answering questions about the practical implementation. Landlords can also seek advice on how to facilitate and support apartment swaps. An apartment swap is always voluntary and requires the consent of the respective landlords.
