Fire Department: Mayor Mende bids farewell to Department Head Andreas Kleber as he takes early retirement

At the end of May, Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende bid farewell to Andreas Kleber, head of the Wiesbaden Fire Department, as he entered early retirement during a ceremony held at Fire and Rescue Station 3, located at 77 Nordenstadter Straße.

Kleber joined the Wiesbaden Fire Department in August 2012. He initially worked in the field of fire prevention. After successfully completing his training for the senior fire service, he took over as head of the “Training and Continuing Education and Volunteer Fire Department” division. In April 2023, Kleber was appointed head of the department.

“In this position of great responsibility, he led the Wiesbaden Fire Department with great prudence and consistently advocated for the safety of our citizens as well as the interests of our employees,” said Mende. “On behalf of the city, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for his tireless dedication and his service to the Wiesbaden Fire Department and the people of our city. For this new chapter in his life, I wish Andreas Kleber and his family all the best, good health, happiness, and many wonderful moments.”
