All sirens in Wiesbaden are currently being digitized. As part of this process, some sirens are being replaced and new ones installed. This work is based on updated coverage plans, as well as the current and future development of the state capital, Wiesbaden. To ensure that siren warning signals can be heard clearly throughout the city and that residents remain aware of emergency procedures, it is necessary to conduct regular siren tests. 

During the siren test, a one-minute rising and falling wailing tone is played to warn the public, followed by a continuous tone lasting one minute to signal the all-clear. Additionally, the test alarm is announced via digital display boards throughout the city.

The following guidelines should be followed, especially when the “Warning to the Public” signal is sounded. These are uniformly regulated by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and also apply in Wiesbaden: Immediately close doors and windows, avoid staying outdoors, turn on the radio and listen for announcements, pay attention to current reports from the fire department (also available at www.feuerwehr-wiesbaden.de (opens in a new tab)), notify neighbors, and turn off ventilation and air conditioning systems
