“With the building permit, we have laid the groundwork for the respectful yet forward-looking revitalization of a defining element within the historically significant ‘Fünfeck’ urban complex,” says Andreas Kowol, emphasizing the importance of the project.

Sandra Matzenauer also praised the trusting and constructive collaboration among all parties involved: “This allowed the building inspectorate and the local historic preservation authority, together with the client and their architect, to find effective solutions for this challenging and complex construction project.” 

The project involves the reorganization and modernization of the hotel area in the main building on Wilhelmstraße and at Kaiser-Friedrich-Platz, as well as in the north wing on Webergasse. In addition, the Webergasse wing will be expanded by two additional stories. The historic facade of the building on Wilhelmstraße and Kaiser-Friedrich-Platz will be renovated and redesigned. A glass dome will be added to the sixth floor, modeled after the original. This will preserve a landmark of architectural and urban significance for the state capital of Wiesbaden in a prominent location across from the Kurhaus.
