"Job in real life": immerse yourself in the professional world of media technologists in a practical way
What is everyday working life like in a modern industrial company? What tasks does a media technologist perform in print processing? Young people will get answers to these questions at the "Job in Real Life" taster afternoon on Wednesday, May 20, at Geiger-Notes AG in Kastel.
As part of this series of events, the Department of Economic Affairs and Employment invites young people aged 15 and older to learn about the apprenticeship program for media technologists in print processing directly on-site at Geiger-Notes AG. This medium-sized company manufactures calendars, notebooks, and other paper products.
“With initiatives like ‘Job in Echt,’ the state capital of Wiesbaden is sending an important signal in support of hands-on career guidance. In doing so, it helps companies secure the next generation of talent and supports young people in actively shaping their professional futures. The visit to Geiger-Notes will impressively demonstrate just how exciting and diverse modern apprenticeship programs are,” says Mayor Christiane Hinninger.
During the open house afternoon, the young people will experience how high-quality wall calendars and notebooks are made from printed paper. In addition to introducing the apprenticeship, the event offers the opportunity to get to know the company, its employees, and the work atmosphere. Participants will gain authentic insights into everyday work life and can ask questions directly to the professionals on site.
Participation in “Job in Echt” is free of charge, but prior registration is required as space is limited.
