Committees meet
Several committees of the City Council will be meeting in public next week.
The Committee on Economic Affairs, Labor, and Digitalization will meet on Tuesday, May 19, starting at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, in Room 22. The meeting will begin with the election of a new chairperson. The agenda will then include, among other items, the topics “Curevac plant closures: Prospects for employees and the business location,” “Opening the Door to Innovative Retail Concepts: Enabling Sunday Operations for Creative Cafés,” “Opening the Door to Innovative Retail Concepts: Planning Certainty for Creative and Social Leisure Activities,” “Further Strengthening Wiesbaden as a Health and Convention Hub,” “Social and Sustainability Startup Hub (S3-Hub): Taking stock and further developing implementation,” “Raising awareness of phishing attacks,” and “Impact of the Hessian Bureaucracy Reduction Act on the state capital of Wiesbaden.” In addition, there will be current reports from the Economic Development Department and the Office for Innovation, Organization, and Digitalization.
The meeting of the Committee on Urban Development, Planning, and Safety will take place on Tuesday, May 19, starting at 5 p.m. at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, in Room 318. The meeting will begin with the election of a new chairperson. Subsequently, topics to be discussed include “Status Report on Experimental Spaces,” “Optimized Land Management,” “Wiesbaden Professional Fire Department – Current Situation, Personnel Development, and Location Attractiveness,” and “Reconsidering the Disbandment of the Wiesbaden Fire Department’s Search and Rescue Dog Unit.”
The meeting of the Committee on Finance and Public Participation begins on Wednesday, May 20, at 5 p.m. at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, in Room 22. The meeting will begin with the election of a new chairperson. Afterward, topics to be discussed include “Demand for compliance with the constitutionally enshrined principle of connectivity,” “Impact of the current tax estimate on the budget of the state capital of Wiesbaden,” “Strategic direction of the power plant strategy of Kraftwerke Mainz-Wiesbaden AG (KMW),” and “Adjustment of property tax rates.” In addition, the city treasurer will present a report on the current budget situation.
