Exhibition in the town hall: "Reading aloud for children - tips and tricks"
As part of the "Summer of Language Education" event, the MitInitiative e.V., together with "Read with me!" and the Queer Center Wiesbaden e.V., invites you to rediscover reading aloud as an educational act and a relationship experience with the exhibition "Reading aloud for children - tips and tricks".
From Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 29, the exhibition “Reading Aloud to Children – Tips and Tricks” will demonstrate how reading aloud can be tailored to children’s needs: interactive, joyful, and full of discovery. The accompanying hands-on workshops will take place on four afternoons: Thursday, May 21, Friday, May 22, Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. each day. For more information, visit https://www.wiesbaden.de/leben-in-wiesbaden/gesellschaft-soziales/kinder/kindertagesstaetten/sommer-der-sprachlichen-bildung (opens in a new tab).
Admission is free. The town hall foyer is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Grandparents, parents, and anyone who would like to read aloud to children or wants to start doing so can receive concrete guidance and proven techniques for interactive reading from educational professionals and volunteer readers. In addition, they will receive tips on selecting age-appropriate books and suggestions on how to make reading sessions child-centered and relationship-building. The goal is to strengthen reading aloud as a valuable space for education and bonding and to provide participants with simple, immediately actionable ideas.
