Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Funding for seven projects with an intercultural focus

Since 2016, the state capital of Wiesbaden has provided funding for projects that promote intercultural exchange and facilitate access to cultural offerings and facilities for people with a migration background.

This time, seven intercultural projects are receiving funding from the “Integration through Culture” program. This year saw the highest demand for funding to date: 26 applications were received from individuals, associations, initiatives, and organizations. These included migrant self-help groups, cultural institutions, and well-known local cultural figures. A total budget of €25,000 was available. A cross-departmental committee comprising representatives from the Integration Department of the Office for Immigration and Integration, the Social Services and Job Center, and the Coordination Office for Cultural Education and Participation of the Cultural Affairs Office reviewed the applications. Once again this year, the special budget was fully utilized.

Funding was provided for projects that facilitate intercultural encounters and cultural participation.
