Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

New Wiesbaden cycling map now available

The new cycling map for the state capital of Wiesbaden is here: The Civil Engineering and Surveying Office has revised and updated the map.

The fifth edition of the cycling map is now available in print for €6.50 at select bookstores or by ordering online at www.wiesbaden.de/leben-in-wiesbaden/mobilitaet/stadtplan/stadtplan-bestellen (opens in a new tab)

It is also available in the city’s digital twin at wiesbaden.virtualcitymap.de (opens in a new tab), an innovative planning tool that offers cyclists not only the map itself but also a wealth of additional information about cycling. The map can also be viewed digitally on the city’s geoportal at geoportal.wiesbaden.de/kartenwerk/application/rad (opens in a new tab)

Over the past four years, the state capital of Wiesbaden has steadily expanded its bicycle network. The revised version of the bicycle map includes all new developments, adjustments to the existing network, and additions to the bicycle routes. The map also shows all 30 km/h zones, all one-way streets open to bicycles traveling in the opposite direction, and all major bicycle parking facilities.

The cycling map includes all cycling connections throughout the entire city area. It therefore offers all residents who cycle in Wiesbaden good orientation and the opportunity to find the most suitable route, for example for commutes or excursions. In this new edition, the back of the map also lists the bike routes that appear on the directional signage within the city. These include both connections between Wiesbaden and neighboring municipalities as well as tourist routes such as the Hessian Long-Distance Bike Routes R3 and R6 or the northern and southern loops of the “Wiesbaden Bike Eight.”

Wiesbaden offers many great destinations and sights not only within the city itself, but there is also much to discover in the surrounding area. Whether heading toward the Rhine and Main with views of the water and vineyards, or through the forests bordering Wiesbaden to the north with their numerous streams, the cycling map can assist with route planning.
