Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Bulky waste collection in Naurod

In May, the waste disposal companies of the state capital of Wiesbaden (ELW) will once again be collecting bulky waste in Naurod - on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22.

Unlike the rest of Wiesbaden, the northernmost district does not have individually scheduled bulky waste collection dates; instead, there are four fixed dates per year—in February, May, August, and November.

Details on the next bulky waste collection for private households in Naurod: On Thursday, Obergasse and Auringer Straße, as well as all streets northeast of them, will be served. On Friday, all remaining streets located southwest of Obergasse and Auringer Straße, including the Erbsenacker neighborhood, will be served. A detailed list of streets is available at www.elw.de (opens in a new tab), posted at the Naurod local administration office, and attached here.

Please note that bulky waste may only be placed out the evening before collection and that rummaging through the piles of bulky waste is prohibited. Since early 2017, placing bulky waste out early has also been subject to fines. Among other things, this is intended to improve urban cleanliness and make it more difficult for illegal collectors to operate.

The ELW asks all Naurod residents who wish to use the service to place bulky waste on the sidewalk separated into the following two categories and to clean the streets and sidewalks after collection: first, bulky furniture and carpets, and second, metal parts or electrical appliances.

Bulky waste does not include renovation materials (laminate flooring, interior doors, sinks, and other items), bundled green waste, glass panes (such as from aquariums), and mirror glass; these items also do not belong in the glass recycling bins and may only be dropped off at the small waste collection point for a fee. Additionally, they do not include residual waste, which is why cardboard boxes and bags will not be collected during the bulky waste pickup.

For further information, please contact the ELW at (0611) 71530 or the local administration at (06127) 991780. All information regarding bulky waste collection can also be found online at www.elw.de (opens in a new tab).
