Lecture on Wiesbaden clubs

On Wednesday, May 20, 5.30 pm, there will be a lecture by Professor Dr. Dr. Alexander Moutchnik at WerkRaum Wiesbaden, Langgasse 5-9, on the topic of "A journey of discovery through Wiesbaden's universe of associations - a panorama of civic engagement"

Wiesbaden thrives on its clubs. There are around 3,600 of them in the state capital—and they demonstrate the diverse ways in which civic engagement is put into practice locally. Clubs are far more than just places for leisure activities: they enable participation, foster a sense of community, and strengthen democratic cohesion. The lecture takes the audience on a journey of discovery through the universe of Wiesbaden’s clubs in a quiz-like format. The spectrum ranges from sports, culture, education, and social causes to gaming, astronomy, inclusion, circus clubs, veterans’ associations, and some surprising niche interests.

The event is organized by the Stadtmuseum Foundation. Admission is free.
