World War II bomb: defusing successful, lockdown ended
The explosive ordnance disposal service successfully defused the World War II bomb in Erbenheim near the Lucius D. Clay barracks on Wednesday, May 13, at around 12:15 pm. The evacuation is over. The restricted area may be entered again.
Residents may return to their homes. Road closures have been lifted. The A66 between Erbenheim and Nordenstadt is also open to traffic again. Bus service will resume normal operations as soon as possible. For more information, visit www.eswe-verkehr.de (opens in a new tab).
