Biodiversity Weeks: "The Wild North Sea" at Caligari
To mark the Wiesbaden Biodiversity Weeks, the Cultural Office and the Wiesbaden Environmental Office will be showing the German version of the documentary "Die wilde Nordsee - Natur, die sich nicht zähmen lässt" by Mark Verkerk at Caligari on Friday, May 22 at 8 pm.
The screening will be preceded by an introduction by Heike Gerlach and Thomas Christ from the Environmental Agency.
The North Sea is not only a popular vacation destination but also home to a diverse ecosystem. Diver and nature filmmaker Peter van Rodijnen takes the audience on a spectacular journey through one of Europe’s most unexplored, rugged, and yet fascinating seas. Amid crashing waves and mysterious depths, the hidden life of the North Sea unfolds—with stunning imagery, rare animal encounters, and touching stories from a world in transition. A visually stunning nature experience that inspires wonder—and encourages reflection. “The Wild North Sea” will be shown again on Sunday, May 24, at 5:30 p.m.
The third Wiesbaden Weeks of Biological Diversity (#WieWoBiodiv) will take place from Monday, May 18, through Sunday, June 14.
