Completion of construction work at the intersection of Äppelallee, Albert-Schweitzer-Allee, and Hagenauer Straße
Construction work by ESWE-Versorgungs-AG/ELW-Kanalbetriebe at the intersection of Äppelallee, Albert-Schweitzer-Allee, and Hagenauer Straße was completed on Monday, September 28. Traffic can once again flow freely in all directions in this area.
Construction work on the sewer rehabilitation is now moving further west along Äppelallee, with the construction site located on the south side. As a result, the intersections with Saarburger Straße and Mülhausener Straße will be completely closed off from Äppelallee; on Colmarer Straße, only the exit onto Äppelallee will be open. On Äppelallee, one lane will be available in each direction. Bicycles and other motorized traffic will share the lanes.
Work on the subsequent section of Äppelallee will continue until mid-February. Completion of the entire construction project is scheduled for June 2027.
The city of Wiesbaden would like to thank all residents and road users for their understanding and patience during the construction work, which is intended to improve and maintain the city’s infrastructure.
The city regularly renovates roads, utility lines, and sewers. As a result, there are approximately 5,000 construction sites in Wiesbaden every year. A map showing selected projects is available at www.wiesbaden.de/baustellen. If buses are affected, ESWE Verkehr provides information about detours at www.eswe-verkehr.de. All of this work represents an investment in the future. Without these projects, major damage would occur sooner or later, leading to even more severe traffic disruptions.
