Smart is the English word for clever.
Smart is often used in connection with technology.
Smart means: technology makes life easier.
One example is the smartphone.
You can make calls with a normal phone.
There is much more technology in a smartphone
than in a normal phone.

3. access the Internet
4. send pictures

City is the English word for city.
It's about the smart city.
How can technology make life in the city easier?
The Federal Ministry of the Interior for Building and Home Affairs
has made a plan for 2021:
Cities should be liveable and lovable.
All people should participate.
We live sustainably.
Sustainable means:
We protect the environment.
We are careful with money
and strengthen the economy.
So that cities remain liveable in the future.
We achieve liveable cities with:
1. computers and technology
2. evaluation of data
3. new ideas and improvements
Examples of a smart city
1. we collect data from different areas.
For example, the results of surveys.
Or the results of measurements.
Politicians and citizens can read the data.
We pay attention to data protection.
In other words:
We do not reveal names or addresses.

Digital means: doing something with computers and the Internet.
For example:
