Mobile radio
The real estate office of the state capital of Wiesbaden acts as a central point of contact for all matters relating to mobile communications companies. This activity is based on the agreements concluded between the municipal umbrella organizations and the mobile communications industry. As a coordinating interface within the city administration, the office bundles all technical and organizational responsibilities relating to the provision, use and further development of municipal properties for mobile communications expansion.
Its core tasks include active participation in the continuous expansion of an efficient and future-oriented mobile communications infrastructure. To this end, the Real Estate Office conducts comprehensive contract negotiations with mobile communications companies, coordinates site-specific requirements, examines technical and legal framework conditions and ensures that both the interests of the city and the concerns of the mobile communications companies are taken into account in a balanced manner.
The aim is to create long-term, economically viable and reliable solutions for modern mobile communications sites.
In addition, the Real Estate Office plays an important role in ensuring mobile phone coverage in the short term. By planning and implementing temporary measures, for example in the course of construction sites, major events, network modernizations or unexpected coverage failures, the office helps to close temporary gaps in coverage and ensure stable mobile coverage. Such interim solutions are an essential part of the city's strategy to provide citizens and companies in Wiesbaden with a reliable communications infrastructure at all times. With these tasks, the Liegenschaftsamt makes a central contribution to the provision of digital services of general interest and supports the sustainable further development of the digital infrastructure of the state capital of Wiesbaden.
Mobile radio sites
With its nationwide EMF database, the Federal Network Agency for Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Post and Railway provides a central, publicly accessible information portal that offers a comprehensive overview of all approved, operated and registered mobile radio sites in Germany.
This database not only records the locations of radio installations, but also provides detailed information on technical parameters, operating modes, transmission power and operator information. The platform also includes data on electromagnetic fields (EMF), which are collected and documented in accordance with legal requirements. The EMF database enables citizens to obtain transparent and easily understandable information about the local mobile communications infrastructure and its potential immission values. It also serves local authorities, planning authorities and specialist agencies as a valuable tool for making well-founded urban development decisions, infrastructure planning or the assessment of individual cases. The database also provides an important basis for the preparation of network planning discussions or the examination of new site proposals.
By providing this central source of information, the Federal Network Agency fulfills an essential legal and social task: it creates transparency, strengthens confidence in the expansion of mobile phone networks and enables objective, comprehensible communication on the subject of electromagnetic fields. At the same time, it contributes to compliance with legal limits and to the protection of the population by supporting the monitoring of technical installations and making relevant information publicly visible. In this way, the Federal Network Agency makes a significant contribution to public education, to the legally compliant monitoring of mobile network operation and to the promotion of a modern, needs-based and responsibly operated digital infrastructure in Germany.
