The lost and found office requires the following for such a certificate

• a valid identification document (identity card, passport, residence permit, etc.),
• details of the time and place of the loss and
• exact details of the lost item.

For example

• For bicycles, the frame number, model, special features;
• for hearing aids, the serial number, model and manufacturer or
• for identity documents, the place of issue and the period of validity.

Purchase contracts, insurance documents or copies of identity documents have proven to be very useful for providing the required information.

During opening hours, there may be waiting times. We therefore recommend that you make an appointment in advance.

Most insurance companies only accept certificates of loss that are issued at the earliest 4 weeks after the loss.
