• a valid ID card with activated online ID function including PIN or an eID card for citizens of the European Union and nationals of the European Economic Area including PIN.

• the AusweisApp version 1.24.0 or higher for your smartphone or computer.
• the landlord's confirmation of residence (in digital form) if you do not own the apartment.

Please note that it is no longer necessary to visit the Citizens' Registration Office.

• You would like to register/re-register yourself and possibly your family
• You have a good command of written and spoken German
• You have a scan of the valid identification documents of all persons moving with you
• You also have a scan of the powers of attorney of all persons aged 16 and over moving with you

Please note that with this online service, once you have registered, you will still need to visit the Citizens' Office to update the chip data on your ID card.
