Finding or founding self-help groups - Self-help contact point

Anyone who has a physical or mental health condition or other issue and would like to share experiences with others in similar situations, gain new knowledge, and make connections will find a welcoming home in the self-help groups offered by the Self-Help Contact Center.

There are about 100 self-help groups in Wiesbaden covering a wide variety of topics. The Self-Help Contact Center will be happy to help you find the right group for you and put you in touch with them.

Is there no self-help group in Wiesbaden yet that addresses your specific concern? The Self-Help Contact Center assists interested individuals who wish to start a group. Whether you need help finding a venue, recruiting members, or handling organizational matters—the Self-Help Contact Center is available to assist you. 

The Self-Help Contact Center provides advice and support—by appointment—in the following areas:

  • Information on all aspects of self-help
  • Referrals to existing self-help groups
  • Support and guidance for starting a new group
  • Advice for self-help groups
  • Organizational support for self-help groups (e.g., finding meeting spaces, grant applications)
  • Collaborations with professionals and guest speakers
  • Public relations efforts related to self-help, such as through events or promotional activities
