"Shop Local" in Downtown—Join Us!

Local Shopping—More Than Just Shopping: From September 10 to 12, 2026, the “Shop Local—Discover Wiesbaden” event will take place in downtown Wiesbaden. Many local retailers, restaurants, and service providers are already participating—join in, too.

Shop Local – Discover Wiesbaden

Downtown Wiesbaden is a vibrant place full of encounters, experiences, and diversity.
Whether you’re strolling through the shops or visiting your favorite restaurant, it becomes clear just
how much the city center—the heart of the city—has to offer.

Local retailers, restaurateurs, and service providers—dedicated entrepreneurs who bring passion, drive, and creativity to their work—are essential to an attractive urban lifestyle.

This is exactly what the state capital of Wiesbaden and the Wiesbaden Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with downtown business owners, aim to highlight during the promotional event

"Shop Local – Discover Wiesbaden" from September 10 to 12, 2026, in downtown Wiesbaden.

Get involved: Together for a strong Wiesbaden city center!

Get your visitors and customers excited about your business and what you have to offer with customized "heimat shoppen" promotions, and let’s work together to make Wiesbaden’s downtown a memorable experience.

The Wiesbaden Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) and Citymanagement Wiesbaden will support you with general organization, promotional materials, and communication. They will also provide a “heimat shoppen” brochure containing information on participating businesses, their promotions, and the “heimat shoppen” rally. The brochure will be available to visitors and customers in stores and at central locations throughout the city center.

Why store at home?

The nationwide "heimat shoppen (opens in a new tab)" campaign raises awareness of the importance of local retail, restaurants, and service providers. It reminds customers of the value of shopping, dining, and experiencing local businesses, and how these activities contribute to the appeal and diversity of their community—even when compared to online shopping or shopping malls on the outskirts of town.

  • Local businesses offer variety, quality, personality, and personalized service.
  • Every purchase made locally secures jobs and training opportunities and strengthens the local economy.
  • Our downtown remains vibrant and attractive—for all of us!

What will happen on the campaign days from September 10 to 12, 2026?

  • Soft Opening on Thursday, September 10
  • Special promotions and offers at many stores
  • Late-night shopping until 10 p.m. on Friday, September 11
  • Discounted parking at a rate of 2 euros per parking session from 3 p.m. to midnight in four city-owned parking garages in the downtown area (PH Theater, PH Luisenplatz, PH Mauritiusgalerie, and PH City)
  • "heimat shoppen" rally with a stamp card and a raffle every day
