Wine festival in Wiesbaden
The Rheingau Wine Week in Wiesbaden is the epitome of hospitality, conviviality and cheerfulness.

The Rheingau Wine Week, colloquially known simply as the "Wine Festival", takes place every year from the second Friday in August for ten consecutive days on Schlossplatz and the Dern'schen grounds. The "longest wine bar in the world" is the "largest wine festival in the world", also measured by the 120 or so stands and over a thousand wines on offer from the Rheingau region. It attracts over 400,000 guests every year.

Joie de vivre, lightness and hospitality

The Rheingau Wine Week focuses on the delicious juice of the vine. Fine wines and sparkling wines, mainly Riesling, are served daily around the historic town hall. In addition to the wine, there is also a wide range of culinary delights to suit every taste. Gastronomes at numerous food stalls provide guests with delicious delicacies. The unique selling point of the festival is not only the diverse and local offerings of the winegrowers, but also the special atmosphere in the historic center of the Hessian state capital between the town hall, market church and castle. The Rheingau Wine Week in Wiesbaden is the epitome of hospitality, conviviality and cheerfulness.

Program

The Wine Week is traditionally opened early on Friday evening by the Rheingau Wine Queen and the Lord Mayor of Wiesbaden together with numerous guests of honor. After this official kick-off, visitors can expect conviviality and good entertainment at its best in the picturesque setting over the coming days. Almost 50 music groups and bands will perform a varied program on the stages in front of the town hall, the market church and on the Dern'schen grounds. A small extra program with childcare is offered for the youngest guests.

Climate protection, sustainability and wine festival ticket

The sustainable approach to the food on offer at the Wine Week serves to protect the climate: plastic dishes and cutlery are not used and there is a reusable bottle deposit. The official Wine Week wine glass, which is made of lighter glass, is more environmentally friendly. It can be purchased at the Tourist Information and at selected stands at the Wine Week. For environmentally friendly travel to and from the event by bus and train, there will once again be a wine festival event ticket subsidized by the Department of Economics. This is not only particularly inexpensive, but can also be used as a voucher for wine tasting at selected winegrowers.

For four decades, the Wine Week has been inviting visitors to celebrate, taste and enjoy a varied program. Visitors from all over the world, but also many old acquaintances from all over the world, flock to the Hessian capital for a cheerful reunion at the wine stands.
