Make your own jewelry. Immerse yourself in the goldsmith's profession.
The goldsmith's studio at LOFTWERK in Wiesbaden is opening its doors on April 7 for a career taster afternoon. Get to know the goldsmith's original craft at the work table on site and find out whether the goldsmith's profession suits you.
A passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail characterize the unique jewelry, which is finely handcrafted at LOFTWERK from yellow gold, white gold, platinum, or silver.
Tradition and innovation merge in the studio: the metal is melted, rolled, sawn, bent, polished, and filigree decorations are applied. Each piece is created individually for the customer, from the initial design to the final fitting. Whether it's a delicate solitaire ring design, elegant necklaces, or expressive cocktail rings—every detail is carefully planned, adapted, and implemented.
The work process often begins with a discussion about preferences, wearability, and style. This leads to sketches, prototypes, and ultimately the finished jewelry, which not only shines on the outside but also tells a story. Materials are carefully selected, alloys are tested, and surface treatments such as matting, polishing, or rhodium plating are tailored to the desired appearance.
Patience and precision characterize every step of the process: from fine filing of the contours to precise soldering and careful grinding. Techniques such as engraving, stone setting, and enameling give the pieces character and personality.
During the "Job in Real Life" taster afternoon, you will have the opportunity to learn about the ancient craft of goldsmithing at the workbench right on site!
