The People Behind It

IG BCE

The Industrial Union of Mining, Chemical, and Energy Workers (IG BCE) is the industrial union representing all employees in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and paper manufacturing industries.

Marion Hackenthal, District Director for the Rhine-Main region, IG BCE.

Together with the full-time union staff of the IGBCE’s Rhine-Main district, more than 1,200 works council members and about 600 union representatives are actively involved in all labor-related issues. With approximately 15,000 members, the union primarily shapes working conditions through strong collective bargaining agreements and thus serves as a negotiating partner for employers and employer associations. Geographically, the Rhine-Main district extends from Offenbach through Frankfurt and Wiesbaden to Limburg.

Employers and employees must cooperate in the key strategic areas of industrial policy in the common interest. I am therefore pleased to support this cooperation in Wiesbaden through my involvement with the Industry Advisory Board.
