Care and feminism
As part of the exhibition "Faceless. Women in Prostitution", the Wiesbaden Municipal Women's Department and Spiegelbild e.V. invite you to a panel discussion on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 7 pm, entitled "Care and Feminism. The early critique of prostitution by the Jewish Women's Association" at the Kunsthaus.
Care and feminism. The early criticism of prostitution by the Jewish Women's Association
Who bears responsibility in the system of sexual exploitation? The Jewish Women's Association addressed this question over 100 years ago - with a clear feminist stance and without moral condemnation of the women involved. At the center of their criticism: the clients, the patriarchal system and the fight against trafficking in girls. The panel discussion sheds light on this little-known story between welfare, the fight against anti-Semitism and emancipatory social work - and asks: What can we learn from it today?
