Free Saturday at the museum

On Saturday, August 2, the Museum Wiesbaden invites you to visit the special exhibitions and collection presentations in Art and Nature with free admission. The program of events for young and old revolves around the special exhibition "Fascination 19th Century" with guided tours designed for children.

View of the exhibition with paintings by Bergen

In its anniversary year, the Museum Wiesbaden is showing works by the Berlin artist Sven Drühl, who has been working in the context of conceptual landscape art for over twenty years. The exhibition "Fascination 19th Century" shows around 35 works by the artist, some of which are very large in scale, until September 28, 2025. The works are complemented by a selection of 35 paintings by iconic 19th century landscape painters: from Eugen Bracht to Janus La Cour and Carl Spitzweg.

In the permanent exhibition "Aesthetics of Nature", the museum trolleys have natural objects for guests to touch and look at closely from 10 am to 3 pm. Young visitors can record their impressions on paper at the painting table in the Wandelhalle from 11 am to 3 pm. There will also be two guided tours for children and the adults accompanying them at 12 and 12.45 pm (30 minutes, limited number of participants, tickets can be booked at tickets.museum-wiesbaden.de).

In addition to the permanent exhibitions in the areas of art and nature, the special exhibitions "Honiggelb - Die Biene in Natur und Kulturgeschichte" (until February 8, 2026), "work comes out of work" (until September 14, 2025), "Plakatfrauen.
