Favorite piece of the month December
Every month, visitors to the "sam - Stadtmuseum am Markt" choose their favorite piece from the collections at a multimedia station. In December, the choice fell on the sculpture of a dragon.
Sculpture "Dragon"
This dragon, also known as the lindworm, is the symbol of the city of Klagenfurt and was added to the collection as a gift of friendship.
Klagenfurt is the capital of the Austrian state of Carinthia. It is the southernmost province of the Republic of Austria.
Wiesbaden and Klagenfurt have been linked by the world's oldest town twinning since 1930. Many schoolchildren have taken part in the traditional school exchange and many clubs in the fields of sport, culture and senior citizens maintain close contact. In 2030, the town twinning will be 100 years old.
