Chamber music in Wiesbaden - tradition on new paths
"Chamber Music in Wiesbaden", founded in 1872, was awarded the "Golden Plaque" Wiesbaden and is a special cultural institution of the city, known for outstanding concerts and original concert programs.
Profiled by the FAZ and dubbed the "crown jewel of the concert scene" by the Wiesbadener Kurier, the concert series consistently receives excellent reviews.
In the past, Johannes Brahms, Max Reger, Richard Strauss, Claudio Arrau and the Amadeus Quartet have performed in one of the most beautiful concert halls in the region, and more recently Kit Armstrong and "The Galactic Prawns", the Hagen Quartet, the Amatis Trio, pianist Michael Wollny and singer Christoph Pregardien, among others.
Concert season 2025/2026
Three outstanding string quartets do the honors in the new season: from France, the Quatuor Agate, from Japan, the Integra Quartet and internationally, the Barbican Quartet. We all long for surprises! The new season includes string quartets by Germaine Tailleferre, Karol Szymanowski, Rebecca Clarke and a clarinet quintet by Toshio Hosokawa with clarinettist Ib Hausmann. An absolute discovery will be the Hungarian pianist Valentin Magyar, winner of the gold medal at the International Music Competition in Vienna.
The Dutch violinist Noa Wildschut and the German pianist Amadeus Wiesensee have been causing a sensation for several years and for the very curious there is a special program: this time with viola da gamba and guitar, with music from baroque to jazz, with the two French musicians Salomé Gasselin and Kevin Seddiki - another concert that you should definitely not miss.
