The procedure

All 25 members of the fourth Wiesbaden Cultural Advisory Board will be newly appointed. Seven of these will be nominated by each of the following institutions: the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden, the Wiesbaden Adult Education Center (Volkshochschule Wiesbaden e.V.), the Hessian State Museum of Art and Nature, the Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau Foundation, as well as the City Museum on the Market (new) and the Rhine-Main University of Applied Sciences (new). Five additional members will be nominated by the political groups in the City Council.

The remaining 13 seats are elected by all Wiesbaden residents who have reached the age of 16 by May 26, 2026.

Candidates for the 2026 Cultural Advisory Board election will run in the following categories:

  3. Performing arts
  4. Visual arts
  5. Cultural Heritage, City History, and Customs
  6. Literature
  7. Socioculture
  8. Non-sector-specific seats

From each sector, the candidate with the most votes is selected for the advisory board. From the non-sector-specific seats, the six candidates with the most votes are selected.
