Actions and events
In Wiesbaden, institutions, associations, initiatives, individual cultural mediators and artists offer various activities and events as part of art education.
Starts June 30—every Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Let’s go on a discovery tour of Wiesbaden with our sketchbooks!
Armed with just a few drawing supplies—such as a pencil, marker, watercolors, or ink—we’ll explore special places in Wiesbaden and the surrounding area.
Urban Sketching is for anyone who enjoys sketching—whether you’re an ambitious artist with prior experience or just curious—and takes place primarily outdoors. If the weather isn’t suitable, we’ll discuss indoor alternatives. Drawing supplies are provided; all you need is a sketchbook and a folding stool.

Drawing is not an innate talent, but a skill that can be learned. The ability to observe something accurately and capture it in a drawing can be learned and developed through targeted instruction and practice.

From an ordinary glass bottle to a unique, one-of-a-kind piece
Reuse and upcycling are on everyone’s lips and central issues of our time. Things shouldn’t just be thrown away; instead, they should be valued and reused.
In this workshop, old glass gets a second life.
Using glass paints, we’ll decorate old bottles, jars, and bowls. Here, you’ll learn the basics of glass painting and transform old glass into a unique work of art. Whether floral motifs, modern designs, or whimsical patterns—there are no limits to your creativity. We’ll guide you through the creative process step by step and provide valuable tips on colors, composition, and painting techniques.
Any suitable glass objects you’d like to embellish are welcome. If you can’t find anything suitable at home, glass objects and all necessary materials will be provided.

The course introduces experimental work with acrylic paints. The aim is to uncover the painterly creativity of the individual. To accept and develop the precious and unmistakable aspects of one's own individuality. By arranging or composing with colors, contrasts, lines and free forms, spontaneous sensations and one's own creativity are given expression. You will work with brushes, palette knives and experimental pouring or printing techniques with acrylic paint on canvas.
The prerequisite for participation is enjoyment and enthusiasm for painting!
The courses take place in the artist's studio in Biebrich. Either on Tuesday mornings or Wednesday or Thursday evenings in a 14-day rhythm.
Art educator and independent artist Elke Ernst offers a watercolor class for beginners and intermediate students. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, participants will learn and develop various watercolor techniques, step by step, from the first brushstroke to the finished painting. Participants will draw inspiration from examples in art history or other representational and non-representational subjects.
The course takes place at the Sirona Women’s Health Center, Schiersteiner Straße 21, 65187 Wiesbaden.
You will receive information about materials upon registration.

The Museum Wiesbaden invites families and children to be creative together one Sunday a month during the respective special exhibitions. After a guided tour of the museum and with the help of educational staff, all the ideas that arise during the exhibition visit are tested in the studio using various materials. The rooms offer the opportunity for dialog, a break and a presentation of the resulting works.
Every Sunday from 3 to 4.30 pm. The current dates can be found on the homepage.
Children ages six to twelve explore the museum’s artworks and then have the opportunity to independently recreate what they’ve seen through hands-on activities. The session concludes with a presentation of the resulting works.
Every Saturday at the Museum Wiesbaden, the focus is on an artist, an artistic style, or individual works of art. After a group discussion with sketches in front of the originals, participants work with a variety of materials on this theme in the museum workshop.
Every Saturday from 10:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Participation costs ten euros per child. Registration is available through the museum’s online ticketing system.
