The form of the human body has always fascinated the art world. Anyone who depicts the (naked) human being is faced with the challenge of understanding the relationships, laws and light that define the body in space.

This intensive workshop is about gaining as much practical experience as possible in nude drawing, training the eye and becoming more sensitive to proportions, anatomy and the basic laws of representation.

The course is suitable for all beginners and advanced students. We work with female and male models, with poses ranging from short impulses to longer studies. This allows you to develop your own individual style.

Graphite, charcoal, pastel chalk, colored pencils, watercolors/markers and various papers are available as materials.

The course introduces experimental work with acrylic paints. The aim is to uncover the painterly creativity of the individual. To accept and develop the precious and unmistakable aspects of one's own individuality. By arranging or composing with colors, contrasts, lines and free forms, spontaneous sensations and one's own creativity are given expression. You will work with brushes, palette knives and experimental pouring or printing techniques with acrylic paint on canvas.

The prerequisite for participation is enjoyment and enthusiasm for painting!

The courses take place in the artist's studio in Biebrich. Either on Tuesday mornings or Wednesday or Thursday evenings in a 14-day rhythm.

The art teacher and freelance artist Elke Ernst offers a watercolor course for beginners and advanced students. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, various watercolor techniques are taught and developed step by step from the first brushstroke to the finished painting. Participants will be guided by models from art history or other representational and non-representational subjects.

The course will take place at the Sirona Women's Health Center, Schiersteiner Str. 21, 65187 Wiesbaden.

The Museum Wiesbaden invites families and children to be creative together one Sunday a month during the respective special exhibitions. After a guided tour of the museum and with the help of educational staff, all the ideas that arise during the exhibition visit are tested in the studio using various materials. The rooms offer the opportunity for dialog, a break and a presentation of the resulting works.

Every Sunday from 3 to 4.30 pm. The current dates can be found on the homepage.

Children aged six to twelve learn about the museum's works of art and can then put what they have seen into practice independently. At the end there is a presentation of the resulting works.

Every Saturday at the Museum Wiesbaden, the focus is on one artist, one style or individual works of art. After a joint discussion with sketches in front of the originals, students work with a variety of materials on this topic in the museum workshop.

Every Saturday from 10:15 to 13:00. Participation costs ten euros per child. Registration is via the museum's online ticket system.

Drawing is not an innate talent, but a skill that can be learned. Seeing something correctly and capturing it in a drawing can be learned and developed through targeted instruction and practice. In this drawing course, you will acquire the basic tools to make your sketches and drawings a success - regardless of whether you want to capture a portrait or still life, a building or a vacation landscape. We cover the following topics: learning to "see", recognizing basic shapes, practical drawing aids, light and shadow, perspective, sketching "freehand" and working with various drawing materials.

All necessary materials will be provided - you do not need to bring anything with you.
