Cultural Award of the City of Wiesbaden
Once a year, the state capital of Wiesbaden awards the Culture Prize. This year, the culture prize goes to pianist Erika Le Roux for the "Musik am Mittag" series.
The citizens of Wiesbaden submitted many interesting proposals for this year's Culture Prize in the spring. From these, a jury chaired by Dr. Hendrik Schmehl, Head of Cultural Affairs, selected the pianist Erika le Roux and her concert series "Musik am Mittag" as the winner.
Head of Cultural Affairs Dr. Hendrik SchmehlI am delighted with the jury's decision. Erika le Roux and her lunchtime concerts not only stand for the high level of music in our city, but also for making sophisticated musical enjoyment accessible to all citizens at a low threshold.
Since 2007, Erika le Roux has been offering lunchtime concerts - "Music at Noon" - of a high artistic standard in Wiesbaden's Anglican Church from May to September. The format she developed has a unique selling point in Wiesbaden's cultural scene, is non-commercial and freely accessible to all.
The internationally sought-after and multi-award-winning concert pianist and chamber musician is involved in numerous concerts and projects in the region and beyond.
The Culture Prize is expected to be presented to the winner in December in the ballroom of Wiesbaden Town Hall.
