In the spring, the citizens of Wiesbaden submitted many interesting nominations for this year’s Culture Award. From these, a jury chaired by Dr. Hendrik Schmehl, Head of the Cultural Affairs Department, selected pianist Erika le Roux and her concert series “Musik am Mittag” as the winner. The jury included the following representatives from the city council’s political groups: Hartmut Bohrer (The Left), Lea Eckert (SPD), Gabriele Enders (FDP), Nikolas Jacobs (CDU), Dr. Klaus-Dieter Lork (AFD), Petermartin Oschmann (FW/Pro Auto), Dorothée Rhiemeier (GRÜNE), and Maria Joao Xavier Vinha (VOLT), as well as Jörg-Uwe Funk, head of the Cultural Affairs Office.

Erika le Roux and her lunchtime concerts not only represent the high musical standard in our city, but also make sophisticated musical enjoyment accessible to all citizens in an approachable way, said Dr. Hendrik Schmehl, Head of the Cultural Affairs Department.

The cultural award will be presented to the winner in December in the ballroom of Wiesbaden City Hall.
