Wiesbaden's water supply is based on four pillars, one of which is the Taunus extraction facilities. In addition to seepage galleries and shallow tunnels, four deep tunnels were also mined at the end of the 19th century. In order to get an impression of how the deep tunnels are managed and how the drinking water for Wiesbaden is provided, one tunnel (Schläferskopfstollen) with the associated waterworks (WW Klosterbruch) has been opened for a tour. The formation of the tunnels, the treatment and storage of the drinking water as well as the management of water distribution and quality assurance are explained.
The guided tours last approx. 1 to 1.5 hours and take place in groups of five to 20 people (adults) and for school classes of up to 25 children by arrangement.
Dates Friday, July 18, 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, September 19, 3 to 6 p.m.

The forest has many health-promoting and beneficial effects for body, mind and soul. Spending time in the forest has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system, is relaxing, lowers stress levels and boosts our immune system. We want to experience the beneficial effects of the forest for ourselves on a forest walk, find peace, experience the forest with all our senses and absorb the beauty and fascination of nature.
We will walk a distance of one to two kilometers off the beaten track and stop at various places. A certain level of "off-road fitness" is required to take part, please also make sure you wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. We will certainly be sitting on the ground at our forest pool (cushions are available). It cannot be ruled out that you may come across a spider or a tick. Please take this into account when registering.
