WiPSO-net - Wiesbaden psychosocial network for people with experience of flight and migration
The Wiesbaden psychosocial network for people with refugee and migration experience, WiPSO-net for short, is active in the psychosocial care of refugees and immigrants with migration experience in Wiesbaden.
The network was founded in 2015 and was initially set up as a crisis team following the increased influx of refugees. This gradually developed into today's network with its numerous and interconnected members.
What they all have in common is their professionalism and experience in working with people from this target group, who have often been exposed to violence and arbitrariness as a result of experiences in their countries of origin and/or during their flight and are under severe psychosocial strain as a result of these experiences. Residency status, health status, career prospects and much more can also cause stress in connection with the challenges of the integration/migration process in our city. The network also sees itself as a point of contact for other stakeholders such as associations, chambers, educational institutions, religious communities, etc. who come into direct and / or indirect contact with the target group.
Guidelines of the network
WiPSO-net sees itself as an independent, non-partisan, non-denominational and human rights-oriented network in the psychosocial field. The network sees its work as a complementary network service for refugees and migrants to standard care and community psychiatric services in Wiesbaden. Representatives from municipal services, independent providers, the medical profession and therapists engage in dialogical exchange.
Aim of the network
The overarching aim of the network is to improve the emotional and mental health and thus the life situation of the target group and to help shape well-networked psychosocial care. This is intended to promote the most appropriate and timely access to advice and/or treatment for the target group.
Preventive and low-threshold services and a prompt response to developing disorders can prevent crises, chronicity and suffering. This enables those affected to play a positive role in shaping the process of social and professional integration.
Targeted access to information about existing and / or new services in the state capital of Wiesbaden and professional networking between the key players in the field of psychosocial care ensures that the target group has prompt access.
This is made possible by
- Creating transparency about existing services in conjunction with the
- networking the key players in the psychosocial context
- Identifying any gaps in care and, if necessary, creating/initiating additional needs-based care services
- Transfer of knowledge and experience for new and existing stakeholders
- Forwarding information on relevant content, specialist conferences, events or similar
