On Tuesday, November 11, Wiesbaden citizens can come to Dotzheimer Straße 99 from 1 to 5 p.m. for advice on the topic of (un)retirement. A cooperation for citizens of Wiesbaden.
The transition from working life to retirement brings with it many questions and uncertainties. It is not uncommon for issues such as: Will my pension be enough? Am I entitled to housing benefit? What support and advice services are available to me in Wiesbaden?

Under the title "Life phase (un)retirement - What now?", numerous offices and advice centers of the city administration as well as other institutions will present their services. Basic security in old age and assistance with care
Retirement often raises financial questions: Will my own pension be enough to cover my living expenses? What happens if income and assets are not enough to cover the costs - for example, for everyday living or in the event of care?
Basic income support in old age in accordance with SGB XII supports people whose income is not sufficient to cover the necessary living costs when they retire. This includes costs for accommodation, heating and personal everyday needs.
If the need for care arises, care assistance benefits can be claimed - both for outpatient care at home and for inpatient care in a facility. These benefits apply if your own income, assets and care insurance benefits are not sufficient.
Our job is to provide you with comprehensive advice and check your entitlements.
The guardianship authority provides information and advice on the possibilities of legal provision and is the point of contact for matters relating to legal guardianship for adults. This includes, in particular, powers of attorney, advance care directives and living wills.
In addition to personal discussions and information events, the brochure "Legal precautions - you decide, who decides!" with important forms is also available to citizens. Wiesbaden citizens can obtain the brochures free of charge from the care authority, on site on 11.11.2025 or directly here for download.
We will be happy to inform you on 11.11.2025 about the possibilities of making private provisions and how to set up legal guardianship.
People who receive a pension that is not sufficient may be entitled to housing benefit. We will be happy to inform you about this on site on November 11, 2025. Further information on housing benefit can be found under the following link.
Aim: The idea is to introduce you to volunteering in all its diversity as a possible option for after retirement.
Many people are looking forward to retirement: time at last for travel, hobbies or long-postponed dreams! But with the loss of work, structure and tasks, questions often arise: How do I organize my days in a meaningful way? What gives me the feeling that I am still needed?
Retirement not only offers free time, but also space for new paths and perspectives.
The team at the Freiwilligen-Zentrum Wiesbaden e.V. invites you to reflect on this new phase of your life - openly, humorously and in an everyday way. We will show you how diverse voluntary work can be and how you can contribute your experience, skills and wishes to a new, meaningful role (I would delete it). You can look forward to lively impulses, personal suggestions and the opportunity to ask your questions in a trusting atmosphere.
What is important to you?
What dreams can finally find a place now?
And how can you actively shape the transition from the world of work to a self-determined life? actively shape?
Discover how fulfilling and enriching a committed retirement can be - and start your new phase of life with fresh inspiration!
