Heat action plan
The summer months of recent years have shown that climate change has arrived in Wiesbaden. Heatwaves are becoming more frequent, longer and more intense, affecting our health and well-being.
To better address the negative effects of summer heat, a heat action plan was developed under the leadership of the Environmental Agency. It provides information on heat protection and the risks associated with heat and raises public awareness.
Heat protection measures are implemented by various agencies. They are aimed in particular at people who are sensitive to heat, such as older adults, babies, toddlers, pregnant women, and homeless people, and are designed to support and protect them during periods of extreme heat.
The heat action plan is regularly updated and adapted as needed.
