Commercial noise
Commercial noise is caused by loud machines in industry and trade. In Wiesbaden, it was recorded as part of noise reduction planning and assessed in terms of its impact on residents.
Commercial noise is generated both in industrial production and in craft businesses where loud machines and equipment are used. The noise emitted by these facilities was recorded in Wiesbaden as part of noise reduction planning and its impact on the population living in the surrounding area was assessed.
The legal basis for the containment of industrial noise is the Federal Immission Control Act, which sets limit values for the operation of production facilities, compliance with which is monitored by the State Environmental Agency.
The Technical Instructions for Protection against Noise are used as a basis for assessing the level of (permissible) commercial noise that must be tolerated.
It contains noise guide values that vary depending on the zoning under building regulations. The list available for download on this page provides an overview of the different guide values in relation to the noise impact at a specific location outside buildings (place of immission).
