Neighborhood noise
People are particularly sensitive to noise within their own four walls, as the noise level in the living area is generally low. Noises imposed by neighbors are therefore quickly perceived as disturbing.
Neighborhood noise includes all noises from neighboring apartments and their outdoor areas.
- At private parties with friends and family, it should be noted that neighbors can be disturbed in their peace and quiet at late hours if loud laughter or overly lively conversations reach them. Inform your immediate neighbors in advance of such events. After 10 p.m., the night's rest must be observed.
- When using musical instruments in the apartment, the time should be chosen so that the neighbors are disturbed as little as possible. The use of silencers when learning to play certain instruments can help.
- Radios, televisions and music systems may only be used in such a way that others are not significantly disturbed. Quiet hours, especially at night, and Sundays and public holidays must be observed.
Fines may be imposed as a result of justified complaints. The legal basis for this is the Administrative Offenses Act § 117.
