Plant world
Plant species that are endangered, in need of protection and/or protected by law were also found in the areas studied. Although areas already under nature conservation were excluded, this shows that the urban area is well endowed with flora. The special species are each described in a brief profile, which includes the protection status, the location where they were found and their main distribution areas.
The plants were recorded on the basis of the current biotope type mapping, i.e. the mapping was quite detailed. The overview of the detected species is facilitated by extensive tables. Depending on the structure of the study area, two to four inspections were carried out during the vegetation period. These were carried out at different times of the year.
The biotope types of orchards on grassland and extensively used fresh meadows proved to be particularly species-rich. In addition, the special site of the abandoned "Kalkofen" quarry is also considered to be extraordinarily diverse. It is home to some remarkable plant species.
