Textile upcycling: Workshop at Makerspace Wiesbaden e.V.
Creative, sustainable, unique: new ideas for used textiles - this is the motto of a workshop being offered on Sunday, October 26, from 1 p.m. to around 5 p.m. at Makerspace Wiesbaden at Wandersmannstraße 60 in Erbenheim. The event is part of the "Stoff zum Nachdenken" exhibition.
"Upcycling" means creatively redesigning used things and giving them a second life. In a workshop on Sunday, October 26, the non-profit association Makerspace Wiesbaden e.V., in cooperation with Umweltladen Wiesbaden, is devoting itself to upcycling fabric remnants and used clothing for the second time.
In the workshop, participants will learn various techniques and ideas for reworking textiles and making pretty gift wrapping for Christmas, bags, decorative and household items. Workshop leaders Bettina Maurer, Giulia Militaru and Nora Kruse from Makerspace Wiesbaden offer three creative projects that can be designed together.
The upcycling workshop starts at 1 pm and lasts until around 5 pm. Up to twelve people can take part. Participation is free of charge and Makerspace Wiesbaden will provide the necessary sewing machines and, if required, sewing accessories. Participants should only bring their own fabric remnants or towels and (cleaned) old clothes, for example jeans and sweatshirts. Further information and the agenda will be sent to interested parties after registration.
