Social cohesion: Inner Westend

Inner West End of the Wellritzhof

With the completion of the Wellritzhof socio-cultural center, planned by architect Hardmuth Sonntag, an important project was successfully realized as part of the "Soziale Stadt Inneres Westend" project.

The center contributes significantly to the urban redevelopment of the district, improves the green and open spaces (designed by landscape architects Bittkau-Bartfelder), and expands the cultural, artistic, and exercise-oriented offerings. It serves as a lively meeting place for residents and the entire neighborhood.

In addition, the Wellritzhof serves as a modern, barrier-free residential quarter in the central area of Wiesbaden. It comprises twelve residential units that are specially designed to meet the needs of older people. The publicly subsidized apartments, which are managed by the

Caritasverband Wiesbaden-Rheingau-Taunus e. V. (Opens in a new tab), offer senior-friendly living space in an attractive location.

The

Wellritzhof Children's Center (Opens in a new tab), opened by the state capital of Wiesbaden at the end of 2009, complements the amenities in the neighborhood. It has group rooms, a play and exercise hall, and an outdoor playground, expanding the range of amenities for families and children in terms of both quantity and quality. The exercise hall with its adjoining rooms creates optimal conditions for a wide range of exercise and creative activities.

The specific mix of uses and the design standards of the area contribute to the development of Wellritzhof into a place with a high quality of life and leisure activities. The wide range of activities on offer, from exercise to art and cultural events, is promoting the development of the Wellritzhof into a lively socio-cultural center in the district, offering space for encounters, exchange, and community life for all age groups.
