With the last funding decision in 2020, the area has received all the funding it is eligible for. The urban development program "Social Cohesion" aims to improve the quality of housing and life as well as the diversity of use in neighborhoods. It also supports the integration of all population groups and helps to strengthen cohesion in the neighborhood. 

The central concerns in Inner Westend included improving living conditions and preserving affordable housing, redesigning green and open spaces to enhance the residential environment, and expanding leisure opportunities in public spaces – especially for children, young people, and families. In addition, the traffic situation was optimized and the positive development of commerce in the district was promoted. SEG Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft was commissioned by the state capital of Wiesbaden to manage the program as a trustee from 2008 onwards.

With a total funding volume of around €14 million, numerous measures were implemented. The urban development projects include the already completed key project "Wellritzhof," the redesign of the soccer field at Platz der Deutschen Einheit, the redesign of the playground on Bertramstraße, and the creation of a pedestrian zone (opens in a new tab) on Wellritzstraße. 

A wide range of educational, integration, and art projects have become established in the district. The district management, which has been based in Inner Westend since 2005 and is supported by Kubis e.V. (opens in a new tab), is the central point of contact for citizens. Active citizen participation in the planning and implementation of projects has resulted in a high level of identification and acceptance among the population, which promotes private engagement and self-organization.
